Welcome to the Veteran Care Project Website

What is the VCP? |
The Veteran Care Project was organized in the spring of 2007 by a group of individuals concerned with the plight of our men and women returning from service to our country in Iraq & Afghanistan. As many as 25 - 30% of these returning soldiers are suffering from the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD). The Veterans Administration and the military establishment are not treating many of them adequately. The Veteran Care Project grew out of an awareness of this issue, created by the movie The Ground Truth, and the tireless work of victims and families of victims of PTSD. |

Our Goal:
| The goal of the Veteran Care Project is to inform Americans (regardless of their stance on the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan) of the almost unbelievable lack of care and treatment for our veterans. To educate soldiers and military families on what they can do to increase their chances of proper treatment. And to influence our representatives at all levels of government to affect change in the services offered. | |||||||
What We Offer: |
The VCP sponsors
screenings of the film, The Ground Truth,
followed by panel discussions with individuals
experienced with PTSD. Panelists we expect to
feature include the film's director, military families
and soldiers featured in the film. We also encourage
local soldiers and their families to come forward and
speak about problems they have encountered within the
system. Contact Us to bring a screening to your
area.
